Col Steve Kempf (US Air Force, Retired) and Marshon Kempf, followed the American Dream of starting their own company in 2011. Steve, an F-16 pilot (now flying the 737 for Alaska Airlines) and Marshon, (a BSN, RN, now Mountain Dog majority owner and President) brought invaluable experience and a love to serve to the company. Their long-time ownership and love of the Bernese Mountain Dog was the inspiration for the company name. During their early years in business, the Kempfs saw many customers with a similar story of contacting multiple sign companies and not being able to find anyone to solve their sign challenges. Hiring team members with stellar problem solving skills, bringing in equipment allowing for in-house production, and creating a collaborative, innovative environment, focused on getting clients truly what they needed, helped fill a gap in the region and helped put Mountain Dog Sign Company on the map.
From a basement incubator space and one employee, Mountain Dog Sign Company has grown into a well-known, leading sign company with a 6600+ sq ft production facility and 11 employees. We provide free consultation and estimates for the end-user, delivering professional recommendations for branding and marketing needs though signage, as well as working with interior designers, architects, and general contractors on behalf of their clients to create innovative, high-quality, cost-effective sign packages that meet all federal and local requirements. We are the region’s leading ADA sign expert, designing and producing Braille signs in-house. From helping a new business owner get the store-front signage they need to quickly build and grow their brand, to managing public works projects that play out over years, our priority is efficiently and painlessly meeting our clients’ needs, big or small.
